Iowa Western Community College is partnering with The Nebraska Flight Center to offer a two-year pilot training program that doesn’t require students to be enrolled in a traditional degree program. The initiative aims to help address the growing need for pilots due to retiring Baby Boomers and increased demand for air travel. Program leaders say there’s strong interest from returning adult students who want focused flight training without pursuing a full degree. Instructors highlight that aviation skills can lead to a variety of careers, including agriculture, firefighting, and search-and-rescue roles.
